Direct Drive Industrial Sewing Machine
Highlead GC198-1 single needle industrial sewing machine for general purpose stitching of light to medium weight articles.
Newly designed Highlead lockstitch model, with a modern appearance, featuring a quiet Direct Drive servo motor with electronic needle position control and easy push button speed adjustment.
The Direct Drive servo motor offers improvements including: quick start and stop, accurate positioning, low noise, reduced vibration, smooth acceleration and a feeling of greater responsiveness for the operator.
Power consumption is reduced by up-to 60% when compared with conventional V belt driven models; offering long term energy savings.
The position of the needle is controlled by Highlead's integrated electronic controller. This will automatically put the needle in an UP or DOWN position (user selectable) at the end of a sewing cycle; reducing the need to use the manual hand wheel. For example: setting the machine to stop with the needle down is useful when turning corners, or changing direction, as it allows the work to be turned and stitching to continue uniformly.
The maximum sewing speed is push button adjustable allowing the operator to select a suitable running speed matched to the job at hand. Speeds as low as 200 stitches per minute can be set for intricate operations or to allow an inexperienced operator time to get comfortable with using an industrial machine. In addition, at higher speeds, the machines smooth acceleration allows for a slow controlled start with increasing speed as you press the foot pedal down further.
A top mounted bobbin winder allows the winding of a new full bobbin, while stitching, ready for a quick change-over when the lower bobbin runs out.
The Highlead GC198-1 features true and even stitching, user friendly operation, easy maintenance and as a general purpose industrial sewing machine: it can be used to stitch various items such as garments, designer-wear, sheets, dresses, cushions, household textiles, light upholstery and many other articles constructed of light to medium weight fabrics. It is also a welcome addition to any busy dry cleaners or alteration shop. A LED needle light is included, as standard equipment, for illuminating the stitching area.
Many optional accessories are available including: zip feet, piping feet, gathering feet, hemmers, binders and guides etc.
